Communities We Build In
Ranked as a top community in the United States to raise children, retire and start a home-based business, the city boasts nationally acclaimed schools, the best public library system in the country, an exceptionally low crime rate and a lower unemployment rate than the state's average. In 2005, the city was named as one of best places to live in the United States by Money Magazine. Naperville ranked third of 100 finalists and was the only Illinois town to make the 2005 "Best Places To Live" list. The city was also named as one of Fortune Small Business' Best Places to Live and Launch in 2008. (Naperville.il.us)
Plainfield is a prosperous and bustling Village, located 35 miles southwest of Chicago, with a population of 39,581 residents. Easily accessible, the Village is close to several interstates and state highways making it an excellent place to live, own a business, or simply spend the day shopping and dining in our historic downtown. The community is striving to keep its small town character and it remains a great place to raise a family. Many new residents cite our quality schools as the reason they moved to Oswego. Community Unit District 308 has an excellent reputation in the Chicagoland area and has maintained its high standards, even as enrollment has increased. For example, the school district has an excellent math program, as shown by consistently high scores on the Illinois Goal Assessment Test. (Oswego.il.us)
Rich in history and heritage, Yorkville’s small town charm remains to be a cornerstone of our community. We are proud of our past and are looking forward to our bright future. The United City of Yorkville was built on a solid foundation of community spirit. This year, we are focusing our efforts on our downtown area which includes a new Whitewater Course —a state-of-the-art kayak/canoe chute. (Yorkville.il.us)
Even with a diverse population of more than 70,000 people, Bolingbrook refers to itself as a village. This Chicago suburb doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's reflected in the many recreational opportunities it bestows on its residents. From a fishing lake on the grounds of the Town Center Complex to a "Theater on a Hill" repertoire that puts on three stage performances a year, there's something for everyone.
Nestled in the Fox Valley and an hour west of Chicago, St. Charles bursts with naturally charming adventures. Canoes and kayaks skim about as paddlewheel boats cruise the Fox River and visitors stroll across our bridges. Theaters and performance centers, sprawling public parks, tempting boutiques and antique shops, and river and fireside restaurants are lasting testaments to city's visionaries and benefactors, the Baker and Norris families. The First Street Development Project brings 100,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space to our charming downtown. Beautiful landscaping, pedestrian-friendly walkways, and plenty of FREE parking enhances St. Charles' shorelines, 90% of which are preserved for picnicking, jogging and bicycling
